How to use VideoDownload.tech

This guide explains the normal workflow, what to expect during download, and a few common reasons why some links may not work.

Step 1: Copy a public Instagram link

Open the Instagram reel or video post you want to reference, then copy the full URL from the share action or browser address bar.

Step 2: Paste the link into the downloader

On the homepage, paste the copied link into the input field and submit the form. The site will attempt to retrieve available media information for that public post.

Step 3: Save the file in your browser

Depending on your browser, the media may download immediately or open in a new tab. If it opens in a new tab, use your browser's save option to store the file locally.

Common limitations

  • Private or unavailable posts may fail.
  • Removed content cannot be downloaded.
  • Some links may change or expire over time.
  • Browser download behavior can differ across devices.

If the download does not work

A failed request does not always mean the website is broken. Instagram links can change, expire, redirect, or stop exposing media information. Start by checking that the copied URL still opens normally in your browser.

If the post loads on Instagram but not here, try copying the URL again from the share menu, remove unrelated tracking text after the main URL, and test from another browser or network. If the post belongs to a private account, a restricted audience, or a removed page, the downloader is not intended to process it.

Responsible-use checklist

  • Save your own videos when you need a personal backup.
  • Ask the creator before saving or reusing someone else's media.
  • Do not remove watermarks, captions, credits, or ownership signals.
  • Do not use downloaded media in advertising, resale, or commercial projects without a license.
  • Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy if you are unsure how the site should be used.
